At that point we didn't have a map. We just walked down through the narrow streets. We came to the Western Wall at near the opposite point to the our initial gate.

Other than popping back out to our gate for lunch, we were in the city most of the day. We walked through all four quarters. We visited the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. We walked and re-walked streets and alleys. We got lost a few times.

At around three o'clock we saw the Franciscans leading a group of Italian tourists on along the Via Dolorosa to the "14 Stations of the Cross".

We didn't get up to the Temple Mount because of the day. On Saturdays, the Jewish holiday, the area is also closed. We might try entering the city again on Sunday. I posted this status update on Facebook: "I now know I'd rather get lost wandering the streets of Jerusalem than in those of Venice."
