We decided not to take a trip to Bellingham for gas and groceries. There were a few errands we could do on the day off. We hauled the box of empty bottles and cans to a recycling depot. We bought a few vegetables at Langley Farm Market. After lunch at home, we walked to the one o'clock matinee at the Landmark Cinemas in New Westminster.

Of course 3D made this movie most impressive. As you might expect, most of it was created by software, but I have to admit that many frames were quite cinematic. I'm not really sure they've got the physics of blood quite right though. It appeared a little excessive. By this I don't mean emotionally; I mean humans would have to be empty bags of blood to have it exit a body by sword or knife with such volume and force. I do think 300 Rise of an Empire was worth the $8.00 cost for a 3D afternoon show.
