I mentioned this a status update on Facebook yesterday:
"A disadvantage of weighing 35 lbs less is my walk uptown and back burns nearly 60 fewer calories than it used to. This doesn't seem like a suitable reward."Of course good advice came in the suggestion I carry weight equal to that lost. Of course, that's logical. I immediately considered filling several empty milk jugs with water and carrying 'em in a backpack. Then, I remembered seeing ankle weights and thought that might be a more refined solution. As I was passing a London Drugs, I noted they had minuscule 2.5lb x 2 sets. I'd need more than that. So seconds ago, I logged on to see what Walmart has. (This is the type of item which doesn't make sense to get on eBay due to shipping charges.)
As well as an assortment of ankle and wrist weights, I saw this weight jacket. What a neat idea! Of course I'd expect military or serious sports training experts to have access to this type of equipment, but my local Walmart? Ah, one has got to applaud free enterprise for the vast availability of items of which one has never yet known a need.
The 40lb jacket is a bit of a niche product though and carries a $100 price tag. I guess my water-filled milk jugs will have to do.
