The weather perked up a bit this afternoon but I still managed to stay on top of the topic of yesterday's blog entry. I was so happy to actually complete a transaction on AirAsia's website! (I'll launch into the vulgarities of Mastercard SecureCode services on a later date.) I've been following this fast-growing airline via their online presence over the past year or so. They are truly a discount carrier where there's a fee just for confirming specific seats. Food isn't free, but our biryanis cost just $3.30 because we booked them online with the tickets. And still, the fees are small and the total costs are substantially less than the old dinosaur carriers. We just booked one-way Kuala Lumpur - Colombo fares for about $75 each. The cheapest thing on expedia.ca was around three to five times that!
I know it will a bit of a zoo and the Low Cost Carrier Terminal in KL sounds a wee bit dreadful, but the experience will make for a memorable part of the journey. We like seeing real people when travelling. Who remembers the seamless parts of life when everything goes as planned? Where's the adventure in that?
