It is hard to remember a time when we weren't all so connected. Today, I'm not going to comment on whether this development is being utalized to its potential. Old naysayers always maintain that a new technology has negative effects on society. Even those who consider the technology neutral, find ways to criticize the perceived lack of good or proper uses for it. I witnessed the "TV-is-a-wasteland" crowd when I was growing up in the 1960's.
I can acknowlege today, that the amazing scope of what is available at one's fingertip is rather a new phenomenon. I think it's healthy to go back out surfing as the term used to be.
You might not be aware of what interests until you happen across it, so it's important to keep your eyes open.I just spent an hour with YouTube after Jay mentioned a 2012 Sinhala movie called Kusa Baba. The good thing about using the big TV, media server, and Android app is I can sit comfortably on the couch lining up YouTube videos from my tablet. I simply output to the large screen. It's a delightful way that can lead to seeing lots of things one never really intended.
You might be able to see how this situation eventually led to my watching the following Ukrainian singer and his song, Виталий Козловский.
I was right. The world really is smaller, or at least it seems more accessible. I'd never watched a Ukrainian music video until today.
