This week, however, I've not been as appreciative. (It's not Thanksgiving here as it is in the US today as we already did that way back on October 10th. You know, closer to the actual harvest.) As a result, I don't have any obligation to be thankful today.
I am aware I've spent a great deal of time travelling in 2011. We stood atop Mayan ruins in Guatemala, on China's Great Wall, and beside the Petronas Towers in Malaysia. Honestly, I've slept in enough hotels this year. Then why is it, I am on the Net searching about places where the sun is shining?
I'll be finishing up classes during the first week of December. I could conceivably be on a flight to Puerto Vallarta on Wednesday, the 7th. It's one of the cheapest fares of the season. Although I didn't plan for such an unnecessary expenditure, getting to Mexico is cheaper than trying to grab a flight to Winnipeg!
I could stay at the Hotel Encino, which I didn't even know about until today.
I could care less about the flashy luxury of modern resort hotels. I'd much rather be a guest in this older, more authentic venue with a Spanish-type courtyard.
