We ignored the web trip-planner as we weren't particularly in a hurry. We left by SkyTrain from our building and went directly to the terminus at the Waterfront. Secondly, we boarded the SeaBus to cross Vancouver Harbour. Lastly, at Lonsdale Quay on the other side, we got in bus #236 and got off directly at the dam which holds back Capilano Lake, a major component of the Vancouver water system. As we didn't get there in the most efficient way, it took close to two hours from door to dam.
It was a pleasant day for a walk and a lot of people were out on the trails. We didn't go far, really. We did cross on the second bridge and walked back to the Salmon Hatchery. Then, rather than scaling back up the steep incline we walked out to the road for the returning #236 bus. The stop was just one up from the Capilano Suspension Bridge, an expensive, one-time, must-see for tourists. When we arrived back at the Lonsdale Quay, we decided it was time for lunch and ate chicken and rice from a Vietnamese restaurant while looking back across at the Vancouver skyline.
We returned home by 3:00. I love living here.
