Buntzen Lake is right in Metro-Vancouver but is no fun in the rain.
Being able to get away this long weekend would've made me happy. It seems as though this spring has been extraordinarily wet, even for Vancouver. We were even in Central America for three weeks of April but I'm still a little bothered by the typical weather we have been having.
More recently, though, the last two and a half days have been a great big meteorological tease. When our clouds actual dissipate, the sky is a magnificent hue of blue here. The whole world takes on an added glow. It'd be so great if what is here would stay for the next three days. The weather doesn't look as if it's going to cooperate, unfortunately. If one checked the historical statistics I'm sure it is more than just collective faulty recollection that Victoria Day weekend is often a wash-out in British Columbia.
I didn't want to go camping tomorrow. I just thought it'd be nice to get out and perhaps get over to the Okanagan. We've not even travelled up the Sea-to-Sky Highway since it was upgraded for last winter's Olympics. Yet, if the weather's going to return to being all ugly, we might as well stick around close to town. Damn.
