I've completely forgotten the recent two weeks of unrelenting sunshine. At the end of December and the beginning of this year, the sky was so blue for so long, I think it adversely affected my corneas. Yet, after a day or so of normal January rain, that memory has just about disappeared. My raincoat nearly soaked through because of the deluge when walking from the classroom to my truck. As well, I am still a little dizzy from the motion of twenty minutes of windshield wipers on high as I drove home.
Be positive, Dennis. Okay, it is this type of weather which surely contributes to keeping our grass green all winter long. And, this is a hell of a lot better than shoveling snow. In addition, when the apartment is warm, it's rather nice looking out at a view which is entirely in a palate of grey. The winter storms even induce a sort of cocoon-like comfort in me.
Still, how can a mere 18 hours of rain so quickly and totally wipe out the experience of hundreds of hours of nice weather? On the way home from class, I picked up a book. It had been on hold at the New Westminster Public Library. Do you think these two events connected?
