I was brought up in an era when thrift was still considered a virtue.

I squeeze every Loonie until I hear it squawk. No, not really. It's just that I don't like paying a premium simply because a product is heavily-advertised. If things are of equal value, I'll always err on the side of thrift. Luckily, fashion is not one of my weaknesses though I have taken to wearing a fadora hat of late. (That has more to do with my love of film noir and the fact I wear eye glasses during rainy Vancouver winters.)
Through the years, though, I have found that there are certainly some things one shouldn't skimp on. One would be shampoo. Another would be footware. Today, I discovered a third.
The old shower curtain had been hanging for years and was butt-ugly purple. I thought this set, which read fabric with PVC liner on the package, was too good of a deal to be true.
It was.
