Not Running Through the PS3

On the way home from class today, I stopped to pick up an order at my computer store. My new graphics card was on sale last weekend and I order it. I could've picked it up the next day, but I waited until my order was complete. I had to wait on the 12-ft RGB HD cable. After all, the reason I moved from the old EVGA 8500 to an newer EVGA 9500 was simply that the newer one is able to output in 1920 x 1080. I can switch from viewing on the computer monitor over to the living room television.

I do have a few difficulties streaming most video content as I have a Canadian IP. That fact prevents me from watching via US network web sites, or from sites like Hulu. Well, there is a work-around that allows me to temporarily use a US-based IP but that solution proves too slow for me to utilize any high-definition content.

There's sometime which feels normal about watching TV on a TV. Even if it's a bit fuzzy, it is better than on a monitor. For example, Jay can keep up on daily news from a number of Sri Lankan television channels. Even low-quality YouTube videos seem more interesting on the 42" LCD.
