Day 003 of Our Winter: Today was our first full day here. We slept soundly but found the a/c too cold and had to get up in the night to change it. Getting up during the night is not something new though. The area around the house has grown with new houses everywhere! Still, there is some semblance of jungle left.
In fact, Jay and I shaved out by the water well. It just seemed more liberating out there in the early morning sun and the surround-sound birds!
We didn't do lots today as we're still getting our footing. In fact, our defacto nap time surpassed two hours and I felt like some knocked me sideways with a sledge hammer when awaking. The sleep was too deep for just the wrong amount of time.
But, it is nice just lounging around in pajamas and a tank top. It's weird the people choose to live in places where one has to put on a lot of extra clothing just to go out the door!
Nazir stopped by and the sisters put him to work helping in the yard. Bed will be a bit early tonight as it takes more than a short time to start living 12 hours earlier than one is used to. Pretty soon, we'll settle in to the Sri Lankan routine.
