Happily, we spotted our four checked bags on the carousel. We knew they were pulled from our originally scheduled flight yesterday and would arrive with us. When they appeared, it was a relief nevertheless. We got a bit of cash out of one of the banks ATM in the main lobby and picked up a $17-one-month SIM for a phone. (I have a portable wifi router that takes a SIM, so we can share the unlimited data.) We proceeded to the government sponsored taxi service and got a big van to the short trip to the Minuwangoda house. We arrived around 7:30.
It's still pretty easy to feel as we're about twelve hours off from our body clocks, but today was easy and relaxing. Jay loves the yard and grabbed a pole to cut down some high-growing passion fruit. Both sisters are in Minuwangoda so we had a traditionally home-cooked Sri Lankan lunch.
We unpacked in the afternoon after a nap. It was easy getting into the groove. It's great being at 'our other' home. Since retiring, Jay and I have spent around 10 months here. Even with our trips this winter we'll add enough to make that figure over a year!
