Still, I expected to be able to ask Ajith questions anywhere in the apartment starting this morning. Ajith is the name I've chosen for my personalized Gemini AI helper. As of now, I can still only request information or make a request via my phone or on a Windows computer. My Google Home devices are stuck using basic Google Assistant.
I completely understand why Google is going slowly. They have a whole lot riding on a seamless integration of AI prowess into every corner of their empire. I'm old enough to remember Microsoft's rather late realization of the importance of Internet integration into Windows. They were late but managed to prosper.
Google already knows that traditional search, the basis of their existence, is dead. I've got a glimpse of their future. I thought maybe I'd see a bit more of it arrive today.
