Our flight is at a fairly convenient 9:45 am, so we needn't get up disgustingly early. It does take around an hour to take transit to YVR from our apartment. An Uber would cost around $40 so transit is a better option for this small trip. Translink's Travel-Planner website suggests taking an Expo Line SkyTrain into downtown Vancouver and grabbing one on the Canada Line from there. It always sounds easier to go to 22nd Station and board the #100 bus. That route follows Marine Drive right down the river. Yet, it appears to take about ten minutes longer than going, all the way, via the Waterfront. I guess, we will give their suggestion a try.
Now, we have to decide just how early we want to be.
Even though it's an international flight, we don't need the suggested three-hour window for a short, morning flight. Probably arriving at check-in for the bag at 8:00 am is about right. It's better to err on the side of caution though. So, the 6:46, 6:52, and 6:56 trains should be fine. Our building has an entrance directly into the SkyTrain station, so we will be able to take the elevators and roll the small suitcase to the baggage check without lifting it. Anyway, for only four nights the single bag is pretty light!
