Sprouting

I had a morning visit to the medical lab at 11:15, so rather than walk uptown I walked the length of downtown and back before my appointment. The round-trip distance to the Columbia Square Plaza is probably around two and a half kilometers. The thing I will remember about today is that it is still pretty damn cold. It was around 10°C (50°F) but in April I seem to think it should be warmer.

   

From the parking lot near the Save-On-Foods, I looked back towards the first and only apartment we rented in New Westminster. We were on Agnes Street from 1996 to 1998 before purchasing our present apartment. There were only three or four towers in that part of downtown back in the day.  We lived in the middle one of the three smallish buildings to the lower, left-hand-side of the present cluster.  I'm sure our original New West apartment no longer has any view of the Fraser River nor Douglas College.

I do appreciate the growth our tiny city has experienced during the last quarter of a century.
