Day 015: Just when I'm finally getting on island time, it's time to start packing.
We walked through the narrow streets this morning on our way to purchase fast-ferry tickets for tomorrow. We got ones on the Kilimanjaro VIII on the 12:30 pm sailing.
Then before I knew it, the sun was about to set. We greatly enjoyed the 'beach shows' when the locals come to our stretch of sand to usher in the evening. Kids jump and play, some doing arobatic stunts. Others swim and everyone enjoys the short time between dusk and dark.
It's nice to know there's someone for everyone as long as they have money.
Rather than eat at our hotel, we decided to try one we'd seen in our walks through the narrow streets. Not much business was being transacted in the shops along the way.
We had Indian food on the rooftop restaurant at the Maru Maru Hotel. We ate near a group of ten older German tourists and enjoyed the 'old' international hits by a local singer and two acoustical backup fellows. Eddie Grant, Abba, Italian, Spanish, and Hindi hits from 20 to 40 years ago. We were at the other side of the area and they were by the swimming pool, so it worked out just fine.
Hard to believe we have to move on already tomorrow.
