By the time we were up for breakfast at 8:10 am, our ship had passed Port Hardy on the northern tip of Vancouver Island. So, the distance to shore increased as we continue north. Our course will keep us between Haida Gwaii and the BC coast.
Both the aft and covered pools looked inviting, but we didn't don swimming suits to test either, nor a hot tub. We walked about the ship as we tend to do on a voyage, especially after meals. We walked around the parameter of the outside on Deck 3. On the ms Noordam, it takes three complete journeys to equal a mile. The weather was nicer than it's been at home lately, and warmer too. Yet, we still did most of our walking on the Lido Deck and on the inside public Prominade decks.
In the afternoon while having tea, we watched numerous orca whales swimming near the ship. We are not travelling very quickly as we're only pulling into Ketchikan tomorrow morning at around 7:00 am. We'll have the whole day, in one of our favorite of the Alaskan cruise ports.
