Actually, Jay saw these up at London Drugs a few weeks ago. Today, this was the only remaining 28" one, so he bought it.
This is a replacement bag for a not-so-old Samsonite model. Like most newer bags, the former had two thin wheels on each corner of its bottom. One fell off a while ago. Another one on a different corner fell off on our way home last month. Jay thinks they hardly proved tough enough for average use.
When we looked at these, we noticed each corner has one larger wheel. The construction looks a bit more robust. Regardless, the zippered middle of luggage nowadays seems like an inferior setup.
Once upon a time, a good-quality suitcase was a decades-long investment. Speaking as an old guy, the days of quality consumer products are long gone.
