Day 94 - These are fruit ripening on a jambo fruit tree beside the kitchen window. Jay likes these fruit sometimes called rose apples in English. There might be up to 600 growing in different stages of development on the 15-foot tree.
The tropics are fascinating because of the diverse plants, insects, birds, and other animals. This is due to the ample, constant energy from the sun and sufficient amounts of water from weather systems.
Honestly, every single day we eat things from the land around the house. Of course, I show the bananas but many types of leaves are eaten in Sri Lanka. They're made into salads or used to add flavour when cooking. I snapped the picture below when Jay was removing stems from the moringa leaves.
