Kotte Was an Ancient Area

Day 70 - This little shop is not far from the 1877 Jubilee Post in Nugegoda. It is very convenient to live near here. So many types of businesses are just steps away. Some apparently have done business for years.  I love how things can come and go over centuries.  This was the kingdom where the Portuguese first colonized Sri Lanka in the 1500s.  The Dutch and the British came later.

   

We walked a little out on the Pitakotte Road. We explored a large, clean, new Keel's Supermarket and found the layout similar to the ones we frequent but with some different products for sale. We walked back past Lauff's and bought several items at a Food City near our junction. We didn't look in this little shop right at the junction.  It's good that so many businesses can exist so close to each other.

We didn't get wet in the few drops of rain that fell.  It has been a pretty dark day though.
