Day 20 - Tuk-tuk travel has spoilt us as we walk much less in Sri Lanka generally. So, today, we walked to a main junction in Nugegoda. It was only about five kilometers in total. However, walking does give one a chance to see things more closely. We noticed some things we'd have missed if simply whizzing by.
We did have a USB memory stick with some paperwork for next week's trip to Dubai. We only had six pages to print and they cost us three cents per page.
We stopped to buy traditional sweets. Kalu dodol is made primarily from palm sugar, rice flour, and coconut milk. It's tricky to make. Jay's sisters aren't big fans. Jay bought a half kilo for us to eat.
When returning, it was late morning so we stopped at a restaurant that is near the house. Jay and I both love biryani and we've tasted different varieties in many different Asian countries. We ordered to go and unboxed at home when we were ready for lunch. We rated the food with a thumbs up. It had the required boiled egg and a large piece of chicken. The spices were a bit hot but it's not like we don't sweat a lot here on any given day!
