Summer is Stirring ...

All during the local winter we were enjoying summer in Buenos Aires. We've been back in British Columbia for nearly eight weeks and I sort of forgot all about that. Finally, it seems, we are into a longer stretch of nice weather. And it arrived just in time for our first summer long weekend! 

In Canada, Victoria Day comes exactly a week before the US Memorial Day long weekend. Many of us make this into a two-week celebration of the unofficial beginning of summer. 

For example, our big Hyack Festival International Parade will take place in New Westminster, BC on Saturday, May 27th. Before COVID cancellations, we used to attract high school marching bands and floats from as far away as California and Alberta. 

I saw that we should expect 100 floats and participants in this year's parade!  This year, we fly away for one month the day after it takes place.
