We finally had the pleasure to visit the island and our provincial capital. We were trying to figure out when we were last in Victoria. We couldn't recall a date. Today, seemed perfect though as it is the day that the former British prince became the King of England!
The cruise terminal is about 2 kilometers from the downtown harbour. We walked. The day started off rather cloudy but got better as the day progressed. We decided the first stop should be the provincial museum to see what was playing on the 6-storey IMAX screen. We watched:
11:00 am - Ancient Caves 3D12:00 pm - Wings Over Water
It was a pleasure wandering around the harbor. We saw a large number of passenger seaplanes coming and going to the Vancouver Harbour. I really didn't know so many were scheduled on the weekends. That would be a nice item to add to our bucket lists. We can connect to the island via the provincial ferry system and either drive or take transit on either end of the trip. However, instead of visiting our capital, of late, we seem to head off in the other direction to the semi-desert of the Okanagan on our short BC breaks.
We watched our last sunset of this cruise from the cruise-ship terminal at Ogden Point.
