Other than the sky, some good news for today is that we'll be doing yet another Alaska cruise this summer. It is super easy for us to leave from Vancouver as the city is the main hub for cruises heading to 'the last frontier'. According to the port of Vancouver:
Based on preliminary bookings, in 2023 there will be 334 cruise ship visits to the Canada Place cruise terminal at the Port of Vancouver. If the industry operates in line with normal capacities once again, Vancouver could have a record 1.3 million cruise passenger visits in 2023.
During dinner on Saturday night with friends, the idea of all six of us boarding the MS Volendam was floated ... so to speak. It seems as though that will work out for July. So, I will have another birthday in Alaska! I did that for my 60th as well. In the photo below, taken on July 20, 2019, our ship was still docked at Canada Place in downtown Vancouver.
