Day 31 - We were happy with this itinerary when we discovered that we get a night on the ship at the end of our journey from Miami via the Panama Canal. The extra night in Buenos Aires seems to have come very quickly though.
We got off to look around this morning. It was hard to judge the distances on Google Maps, but we did manage to walk from the main port to a section of the city near Florida Street.
It was a breeze to sell a $US 100 bill to a Cambio tout. We got the 'blue dollar' rate which is near twice the normal exchange rate.
Jay has got some sort of cough. It's not COVID as we used up two antigen tests we'd carried along. A lot of folks are coughing on the ship. As expected, after being masked for several winters, this flu and virus season just may be a doozy. We stopped in a pharmacy and got him some Strepsils™ and a bottle of cough syrup.
It was interesting coming out to the Buenos Aires Obelisque. It seems as though after Argentina's World Cup win, huge crowds gathered along this super wide avenue. Millions, were here by the count.
The weather was great and so much better than what they're having back at home in Canada.
As we'd put on quite a few kilometers, we grabbed a taxi back to a late lunch aboard the ship. Tomorrow, they'll kick us off the Oosterdam and we'll be checking into an Airbnb for a stay of three months.
