Day 2 - A welcome day of relaxation! We have been alongside Cuba for much of the day. I'm assuming we are going to turn as we get to the channel between its tip and Haiti. I do know we walked over 10,000 steps today just around the ship, even though it is so familiar to due our travels on Holland America's three sister ships. It is about 28°C or 82°F today.
Tonight is the first of the ship's 'gala nights'. These nights people get dressed up and on HAL ships most people go to the formal dining area. We most always bring along suits. We only get to use them for weddings, funerals, and gala nights. However as we packed everything for four months into just two suitcases, we had to forego suits this time. We have long sleeve shirts and both neckties and bowties. Tonight we will don neckties.
