When getting home around 10:30, we didn't take off our jackets. (We really didn't need them as the temperature had already started to soar to a possible daily high of 26°C.)
We walked up two streets to the neighbourhood school, École Qayqayt Elementary. It is on the site of the former Saint Mary's Hospital. We can remember when the former hospital was open during our first years in New Westminster. The new school opened in 2014 but we had never been inside.
We had a good reason to see the inside of the gymnasium there as today was the local municipal elections. Voting was quick and efficient and walking to the school and back was pleasant in the continuing, unseasonably hot weather of this October.
