Having a nap isn't relegated to little children. We do so nearly every day. In fact, I have got the 40-minute power nap down to a fine art.Of course, work would've interfered with our current two o'clock in the afternoon scheduled downtime. That is in the past for us though.
We are often in places with hot afternoons and a little rest is welcome during this type of situation. Although there's nothing wrong with slipping under a few covers when the air is cool.
I believe the aversion to adult napping came with the advent of industrialization. It was perceived as slothful and carried the concept of being a little sinful. Even today, I sometimes come across a medical piece hinting at the correlation with negative health outcomes. "Pshaw," I say. And I'm not alone. Look it up.
