The Fraser River runs 1,375 km from the Rocky Mountains right past downtown New Westminster. It empties into the Strait of Georgia less than twenty kilometers from here. We moved into our apartment in 1998 before there was a municipal park along this part of the river. It is so easy to pop down, cross Columbia Street and city parkade, and visit Pier Park. We enjoy doing that and did so yesterday.
