Day 26 - I started my eJournal and images when I was 44 years old. It's interesting to go back to the early entries just to see how we used to look. I wished I'd have been more unflinching with my mugshots over the years.
In 2019, nearly 2020, it's a little scary looking at unretouched photos of myself. I was going to be bold and brutally honest and just post my current reality. However, as you will notice, each photo has been substantially reduced in size. Oh hell, this way four were able to fit across the page, right? My formatting was probably not purely for page layout. Smaller photographs help to hide many uncomfortable details too!
We went to town today for several reasons. Jay and I both stopped to have some photos taken for our Sri Lankan visa renewal. An initial one-month can be completed from home through an ETA from a Sri Lankan government website. In order to stay for two more months, however, we'll need to renew. While downtown Minuwangoda, of course, we hit Keells Super for some groceries.
I also stopped at Minuwangoda Salon for a haircut. It was busy and I had to wait a bit. However, the A/C was blowing right on our chairs. Now that I keep the sides very short, I find I need to go for a haircut more often. I did want you to see what happened. So as well as documenting my amazingly youthful looks, I wanted to show today's haircut in the top set of photos.
I paid the standard, current haircutting price of SR 200 or US$ 1.10. This can probably be considered the best deal of my day.
