The hotel, in which we were staying, provided a continental breakfast. We returned the lock cards at around 9:15 and plotted our path back to New Westminster. We started down Highway 5 but turned off to take a short trip through Logan Lake, BC. I am sure we have never been there. It is a really small community which started back in the 1960's as a mining town. During three decades a number of companies mined down mountains of mostly copper and molybdenum.

A few pieces of old equipment were a gift to the community and are on display. Do notice my little Ford Ranger parked next to the truck behind Jay in the bottom picture. Whenever I'm in the BC Interior I have the smallest truck, but it pales in comparison to this beast!
After running down 97C and getting back to Merritt, we re-joined Highway 5. It becomes Highway 1 just before Hope, BC. Coming back through the Fraser River valley is not my favourite drive. The last 120 kilometers seem to take forever. At least the highway is divided into 6 or 8 lanes further and further out from the Port Mann Bridge each year. I prefer the highways which are empty though.
