Day 73 - I'm not used to getting up before dawn but we've done it twice this week. Today, I set the alarm for 5 o'clock, although it was inadvertently placed on PM. No matter, we were up before the fact under our own determination. We got to the airport at a bit past six with an Uber driver who was very friendly and had worked through the night. The flight to Kuala Lumpur is only about an hour. We had to wait around for a 1:40 PM connection to the Brunei International Airport.
Our hotel driver arrived in the hotel van to pick us up right at 4:05. The Jubilee Plaza Hotel is sort of a faded old rose. It must've been impressive once, but we were more interested in the reasonable prices and downtown location. We got a suite.

We were both tired but Jay was raring to walk around downtown for a while. Being Friday, things were a bit quiet on the streets of this Islamic city. It was quite cloudy but we didn't see any raindrops. It is forecast to rain tonight.

We picked up some things to keep in the room's refrigerator. We got a lay of the city before it got dark. As we remembered from our last trip to Borneo, the time zone means it gets dark early; in this case, around 6:30. We found a place to have dinner and got back for a pretty early night.
