Day 74 - I like saying the name of the capital city in the title. Then, it's fun to add that we're in Brunei and on Borneo.
I slept like a log last night but found getting up a short struggle. We had them bring hot water to the room as we have no kettle. After my 3-in-1 stick of Nescafe, some bread, a bit of jam, and a little encouragement, I was ready to hit the streets.

The various water villages are scattered along the river. The main city is not too large. We headed to Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddin Mosque. It is somewhat of a showcase mosque in SE Asia. It's history by the fact it is a year older than I am. We were able to enter and take a look around. The canal-type waterway is behind the mosque and the similarly historic Royal Barge sits permanently moored beside.
We saw huge dark clouds and after we came out of the mosque there was a downpour. Borneo is a rainforest, so showers are to be expected. Luckily, just across the street, a large public area had a canopy cover set up, perhaps for a show. We stayed dry, while our umbrellas stayed safe back in our hotel room!

We came back to the hotel after lunch and had a short afternoon nap. The sun did appear in the later afternoon. It set at around 6:30 making it a 12-hour day as is always the case in SE Asia. We did a whole lot of walking today as my Mi Band shows we travelled 11 kilometers just around the city.
