Day 56 - We had no pressing appointments today. Haha. We have arranged life so that we never do!
I said to Jay this morning, "Let's go downtown just for a ride." During the first part of December, when we'd just arrived, we went to George Town often. Lately, we've not been doing so, as much. The weather looked bit unpredictable this morning, but on a bus, it really didn't matter. We took our neighbourhood bus to the end of the line. We had to wait a few minutes for one of the free, shuttle buses to depart from the Weld Quay Bus Terminal. The Central Area Transit fleet provide a loop within George Town's UNESCO World Heritage Site.

We hopped off at large grassy area beside the Padang Kota Lama. The view of the sea was calming for the three minutes we stared in that direction. That was all. It was time to get back on the free shuttle bus.
As we were on our way back to the Komtar, I snapped this picture of the 19th-century St. George's Anglican Church. We have a friend in Vancouver who is a member of that congregation and I mentioned that Penang has a historic one.

Under the Komtar our #301 bus arrived quickly and as the traffic was light, we got here in time to eat lunch.
