

Day 29 - With our freshly-minted bus passes, we struck out for George Town again today. We got off our bus and into a #101 at the Komtar. It was a little difficult knowing where to get off for this Thai Buddhist temple. In fact, we went a bit far and had to walk back from another two temples visited a couple of weeks ago. It was about a kilometer away from them but in the same area.


The mornings start off a cool 25C recently, but can still get up to the normal 31C by the afternoon. That is how the day went. Wat Buppharam, in Pulau Tikus, is most famous for its 'lifting Buddha' statue. The legend goes if one concentrates in prayer for a wish and guidance, then one will be able to lift the small, 1000-year-old statue on the first attempt but not on the second.

We had a little wait for a bus returning to downtown. We did stop by for our lunches at one of our restaurants in Little India. The total bill came to about $US 5.65. Feeling adventurous, I tried tripe curry today. I don't think I have ever eaten tripe before in my life. One's never too old ...
