We didn't have anything needing to be done this morning, so we figured we'd find a place for a little walk. We drove over the bridge to the Queensborough neighbourhood of New Westminster. Where we live, in downtown, the whole Fraser River passes. Yet just a little west from here, it splits into three parts: the short Annacis Channel, and the Fraser's north and south arms. The bit of Queensborough we visited is just across the north arm. The land juts to the east, or up the river.
This area is relatively close to downtown and the Quay but requires a few miles of driving. When traveling today, the old pickup hit a bit of a milestone! I had just crossed the bridge and safely pulled to the shoulder near the turn off to Queensborough Landing in order to take this photo.

We parked along Furness Street just to walk the short boardwalk to new Port Royal developments. What a fantastic day to be out! I like looking back to where we live. It would be so great if we could have a bridge providing pedestrian access from the Quay.
