Pardon my framing. I was just trying to imagine how the New Westminster riverfront will look when the 43-and-53-storey towers are built. The city has changed so much in the 21 years since we moved here! Downtown NewWest is definitely a more vibrant and better place to live now. The development of this patch along our quay will be a welcomed addition to the city.
Of course, I'm sure that, personally, we'll lose quite a lot of our lovely view. Either I will no longer see the remaining section of the Alex Fraser Bridge or will lose sight of the river port. The two towers will be situated to maintain sightlines from the city streets, meaning they'll end up broadside from my balcony. Still, it's a price that we are willing to pay for such an enormous improvement to our city.
