I have got to be one of the most un-brand conscious people I know. The prestige of paying more for an object of similar quality is just plain stupid, in my opinion. Even when picking food products, I do not fear the lesser known of two choices. Of course, the only reason the known one is 'known' is because they have, at least at one time, spent money on advertising. That said, one's choice in food or grocery product depends a lot on where one lives. Although multinational mega brands are sold the world over, many names are particular to certain geographic areas. Regions have different suppliers, and countries even more so. I may be aware of this more than most because of the number of years spent abroad. I rather wish I had recorded some of the companies representing my buying habits during life.
I think it is Comet here but was VIM abroad. Is FA soap available on store shelves nearby? What about UHT milk which didn't need to be refrigerated and where did I drink it with Hood on the label? Anyway, for future reference, I often drink this Canadian brand of apple juice ...
