Earlier in our lives, it was common for us to have at least a half dozen small pictures at all times. We always needed some for visas and renewals when we worked in the Gulf as that was well before the days of electronic snapshots and digital immigration fingerprint scans. We won't need all eight of the tiny images which they printed today. The price was only £15 for that many, plus we were surprised by a free 5x7 when we returned after a half hour to pick them up.
During the time we had to wait, we found a shop to make photocopies of our passports and current Egyptian visas. In addition, we inquired at several bus companies to check on the prices for a ride to the resort city of Hurghada on the Red Sea. We also stopped at a pharmacy for a few items and a shop to pick up roasted chickpeas, cumin, and peanuts.
As you can see, we really didn't have a 'do-nothing' kind of day. I must admit, however, I feel more relaxed than I have for a really long time. During the many hours of sleep we are getting, I dream a lot. I think that's a good sign.
Consequently, I don't feel strange saying that I can appreciate this image I took when walking along our road today. Rather, I really like the fact that I can relate to it so well at many levels.
