I have never really taken many business courses, so I had to search for the phrase in today's title. 'Brand expansion' is when a company uses its trusted name in the marketplace on a completely new, yet somehow related product.
Earlier today, I was looking for Vitamin C tablets at the drugstore and returned with the ones above. I have positive associations with the Sunkist brand. It seems as if the clever tactic worked!
Of course they were also a buck cheaper than the well-known Canadian brand, Jamieson Laboratories. So I might have returned with these 'cause I'm a cheapskate.
