Big Boats

We have been on cruise ships just three times, all along the Pacific coast. Each voyage in the 2000's was with a different cruise company. Most recently, seven years ago, we were aboard the Carnival Pride for a week on the Mexican Riveria route. That was our first exposure to Puerto Vallarta.

Before that in 2006, we flew to San Diego just to take a coastal re-positioning cruise up to Vancouver. We went on Holland America's Veendam. It had just come through the Panama Canal and was heading up for the local cruise season.

Yet, our very first time on a ship was a round-trip, cruise to Alaska in 2001. As this occurred a few years before I started blogging, we were trying to remember the ship. We're almost positive it was still the original Pacific Princess of the 1970's TV show, Love Boat. That would have been nearly at the end of its service with the company.

Now, I have been researching and checking the fleet of Princess Cruises. Here's a photo of their newest ship taken on the other side of Canada. It's the Regal Princess. There's a reason for my interest.
