Whereas it was once hard for me to schedule a break when I taught summers, we can now choose from a completely open schedule. This is good news when it comes to getting outside.

I am sort of hoping that we'll be able to take a camping trip next week. August is usually pretty full of activities. Of course, the decision can occur as late as the point of slipping out of the garage door. For example, if the weather forecast looks unfavourable, we can reschedule right up through the end of autumn. I'd really rather not put the new tent to a waterproofing test. So far, Monday through Friday of next week sound good.
In addition, I like the idea of turning 56 someplace in the woods where I've never been.
