Of course, for us, longer trips are always on the back burner as well. As proof, I could point to the fact we have already bought tickets to reach the place where we'll spend next winter. On the journey, we've planned several stopovers.
I worked in the city of Dubai from 1991 to 1996, right before heading here. It will be great for us to finally get back for a visit in November. We are staying there for five nights on our way. Of course, not much will seem the same as that city has developed a lot twenty years. We left before it was possible to go alpine skiing in the desert or view the world's tallest building.
I will, however, try to update this old photo of the abra crossing from Bur Dubai to Deira. We are looking forward to revisiting the United Arab Emirates.
