The part of the entertainment, which just didn't cut it, was the lack of sound from its tiny internal speakers. I had started checking prices of a cheap set of little Logitech speakers when we were there. Prices for electronics seemed to be slightly more expensive in Mexico than here. I did check the model specs online but never did get around to buy any.
Today, when we were grocery shopping I noted that Logitech Z150 speakers were on sale. The 8" x 6.5" x 3.5" box looks small enough to pack during future winters. All power supplies are multi-voltage nowadays. They'll do for our stay in Luxor, Egypt next winter. I can also keep them around the apartment this summer to attach to the tablet or a cell phone.
One can't expect too much for just $CA16.95. They certainly aren't going to shake the cement walls at 3 watts per speaker, but they will prove adequate for their purpose. Blockbuster movies aren't going to sound like they do through my aging home theatre system, but future neighbours just might be thankful for that.
