I loved the instant accessibility of having it online and playable from anywhere at my beck and call. The trouble with my collection was that I had not really paid much attention to music for at least 25 years. Things from my youth through the first decade after college were well represented in this catalogue. However, nothing recent had been added and I didn't even really know where to begin.Luckily, exploring music and catching up on artists has never been easier. Music, basically, exists only on the Internet now. Streaming is an excellent way to discover what's out there. I am really impressed with the variety and quality of today's music. Google Play now lets one upload and store 50,000 songs for free. Under most circumstances, I am near WiFi and can stream the titles. I also can keep copies of my music on personal devices. So although my entire collection of 11,000 songs sits online, I can keep selected music locally on my phone, for example.
Although we don't have the most robust Internet connection here in Mexico, I have been able to throw tracks around and experience sounds from other than the 70's and 80's. The burning question I still have is: What else do I have to do to keep myself young?
