Wednesday is cheap movie day in Puerto Vallarta, so we went to the very first daily showing of the third instalment of A Night in the Museum.
For the two of us, the price was 68 Mexican pesos. That converts to around $2.30 each in the galloping US currency. With the amount of 'magic money from nowhere' that the US has printed during the last half dozen years, those bills should be approaching worthlessness. It's more than a little scary that all other governments have paper that is even less desirable. I guess this is not the place, time, nor blog-entry to discuss that topic.
Although I don't do movie reviews, I'd say I came away satisfied. Of course, it wan't very different than the previous two. They, obviously, had a bit more money to spend on this one, so locations and CGI budgets were upped a little. The end was a fitting way to say goodbye to Robin Williams, although (hush) he was never a favourite of mine anyway. It sort of created an excuse for the magic of the tablet. It isn't hard to wonder why it hadn't already lost its power considering it was stored all along. Hey, we had fun and I guess that is the point of this one.
We returned to the Gallerias for the show as it screens more movies in English than the cinemas in Pitillal. That is near the port. We saw the Norwegian Star cruise ship coming into the bay before breakfast today. Yet we did manage to beat the Carnival Miracle to the area!
