I can contrast this to a previous one which died. I put in something to heat up and it was as if the mighty Hammer of Thor had struck. There was a blue flash of light and a minor explosive sound. In some ways, it is more satisfying when a device stops functioning with an unmistakable and pronounced cataclysm. To have something just not function any more seems a little bit of a let down.
Our property manager is going to pick one up on her way home from work this afternoon, and swing by with it tomorrow morning. (I wonder if this means we should roll out of bed before 9:00 am?)
Managing a slew of properties must be like the worst part of home ownership multiplied by the number of places. If one is looking after a sufficient number of homes and apartments, then something or another must crop up every single day. Worse than the totals, most probably these faults do not have the courtesy to spread themselves out evenly over time. Time dependent problem solving causes stress. No, thanks!
For most of humanity people have lived without the ease of heating food in a microwave oven. Boy, the two of us have surely become dependant on having one though!
