Getting Ahead of Myself - Day 65

Today wasn't as nice a day as usual. We had rain last night and it stayed a bit muggy throughout the day. We did go for our usual walk to the water a little while ago. It is a nightly habit, but on Fridays, the cultural dance troop provides its free outdoor show and we linger longer. Mexico has an amazing variety of music from the different regions and points in history.

I spent a little bit of the day looking online at other locations in which we can spend winters. One reason for retiring early was that we'll get another nine before I turn 65. Leaving Vancouver for five winter months will work out perfectly and we'll get us back to our beautiful province of British Columbia when the weather is at some of its best.

There are so many wonderful places in the world where one could stay from November to March. In most of the places we'd enjoy being, there are apartments available for $500 or $600 per month. Doing this is a different type of vacation than we are used to. We can go to a single location and hangout. It allows enough time to hit more than the tourist destinations. It should provide us with an experience where we can really live a little more as the locals do.

We are doing that now. Until the end of April we will be here in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

No Band

There are nearly too many other options to count. We can strike out for a new destination, such as Panama. Or we might return to an area we've not seen for decades like Goa, India or Bali, Indonesia.

Of course, we can also go back to places we've recently visited. In fact, the following three would have to be considered in the running.

Siem Reap, Cambodia (Day 1)
