Today we took a small walk. Actually, it was probably only a few kilometers, but it is just in a direction we never travel. In the Google Earth image above, we live at the blue dot. We walked over to the yellow dot. We can practically see it from the balcony. The area is just on the other side of the river and tucked a bit behind the mountain.
It is a neighhourhood called, El Caloso.
One reason for going to this area was to check on a property that was for sale a few years back. Although improvements such as a new roof area have been added, it is still on the market.
To me, it seems just about a perfect place to spend half of each year. In fact, this casa has featured in this blog in the past. We could even swing its cost, although it is more than you might imagine. This has been a major tourist town for decades so real estate prices are somewhat international.
Yet, it just doesn't really make sense to tie ourselves so closely to one place yet. We want to be able to pick and choose where we spend winters for a while. We're still young. We'd not want the maintenance and tax hassles involved in owning this place. Still, I love that hovel of bricks. A lot.
